Job summary

SCR is seeking a Residential Support Worker to join a dedicated team across three trauma-informed homes in Fontwell and Littlehampton. You will play a nurturing, parental role, build therapeutic relationships, and support children aged 7–10 to feel safe and valued.

You’ll work 40 hours per week with one sleep-in shift, participate in comprehensive training, and contribute to long‑term development and routines that help children thrive.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in residential settings or similar youth work roles.
• Must have a valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Enhanced DBS clearance or willingness to obtain one.
• Commitment to working 40 hours per week, including sleep‑in shifts.

Responsibilities

• Support children with daily needs and routines.
• Prepare and cook meals.
• Create a calm, safe home environment.
• Spend quality time and participate in activities.
• Encourage emotional development and positive relationships.
• Respond calmly to challenging behaviours.
• Provide consistent support aligned to each child’s needs.
