Job summary

Compass Community Schools is seeking a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our team. The role involves supporting teachers in the classroom and working with children who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH) and SEND, including those with Autism, ADHD, and communication difficulties.

Ideal candidates will be resilient, patient, and flexible, with a commitment to safeguarding. The role may include 1:1 or small group work, assisting with lessons, trips, and therapy sessions, and

There is no formal qualification required for this role, but experience working with children or young people in education or similar settings is valued.

Responsibilities

Support teachers in the classroom.
Work with children 1:1 or in small groups.
Manage classroom resources.
Take children on trips and visits.
Support with managing heightened behaviours and safeguarding.
Conduct science experiments and create displays.
Celebrate student successes and contribute to therapy sessions.
