Compass Community Schools is seeking an experienced HLTA to support pupils with SEMH and SEND needs. The role involves 1:1 sessions, small group work, managing classroom resources and assisting with trips, all while ensuring inclusive learning and safeguarding.

You will operate in a trauma-informed environment with extensive therapeutic training and guidance. The role requires resilience, adaptability and a collaborative approach to help every child succeed.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEMH/SEND.
• Ability to manage challenging behaviours.
• Ability to work 1:1 and in small groups.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in the classroom.
• Deliver 1:1 or small group sessions with students.
• Manage classroom resources to ensure a productive learning environment.
• Take children on trips and visits as part of learning.
• Have lunch with children who struggle socially to support inclusive eating.
• Help manage heightened behaviours and keep children safe.
• Participate in therapy sessions or reflections for pupils.
