Job summary

Catering is seeking a Learning Mentor in Gloucestershire to support learners aged 16-25 with SEMH needs, autism, and learning difficulties. This contract role focuses on trauma-informed, therapeutic coaching to build emotional wellbeing and readiness to learn.

You'll act as a key worker, collaborate with families and staff, maintain records, and help learners progress towards meaningful next steps. Hours are 08:45-16:30, Monday to Friday, with pay at £17.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• Experience with young people with EHCPs or additional needs.
• Proactive, professional communicator who collaborates well.
• Emotionally intelligent with ability to build trusting relationships.
• Strong interpersonal skills in a learner‑centred environment.
• Genuine commitment to improving lives through learning.
• Good safeguarding understanding and DBS readiness.

Responsibilities

• Act as a key worker for learners aged 16-25 with SEMH needs.
• Build trusting relationships to support emotional wellbeing and independence.
• Apply trauma-informed and coaching-based approaches to readiness to learn.
• Support learners with EHCPs to engage in education and adult skills.
• Collaborate with families, therapists and staff to enable positive outcomes.
• Maintain accurate records; adhere to 08:45–16:30, Mon–Fri.
