Job summary

Horton Housing is recruiting a Housing Support Worker for a Bradford scheme on a fixed term contract (maternity cover). The role is 35 hours per week from Tuesday to Friday, with an annual salary of £27,588 and 6 weeks’ annual leave plus bank holidays.

You will adopt a trauma-informed approach, helping women sustain tenancy and access essential services. Responsibilities include tenancy readiness training, welfare benefits, healthcare access, and liaising with other services to tailor

Qualifications

• Experience with people with multiple needs, including mental health challenges and substance use.
• Ability to plan, organise and prioritise work with timely reports.
• Excellent communication, including active listening.
• Approachable, adaptable and able to stay calm under pressure.
• Hold a full UK driving licence and have use of a car for work.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-informed support to women to sustain tenancy and achieve housing outcomes.
• Deliver tenancy readiness training and assist transition into permanent housing.
• Address immediate needs such as welfare benefits, food, clothing and healthcare access.
• Work with other support services and maintain personalised support plans.
