Job summary

Heartwood Learning Trust in Hull is seeking an Education and Welfare Support Officer to work with our pastoral team, safeguarding leads and external agencies to provide guidance, mentoring and practical support to students facing complex emotional or social challenges.

You will support vulnerable pupils, including those with SEMH needs and those at risk, delivering tailored interventions, liaising with families, and coordinating external support services.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting vulnerable pupils and safeguarding.
• Knowledge of safeguarding legislation and inclusion.
• ELSA-trained with trauma-informed therapies.
• Experience with bereavement support and therapeutic interventions.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for students.
• Liaise with families and external agencies.
• Coordinate external support services and referrals.
• Contribute to attendance and welfare strategies.
• Conduct home visits and support safeguarding processes.
