Job summary

Hampshire County Council, through Hockley House, is recruiting to provide high-quality care and support for children and young people. You will build trauma-informed relationships, support education and life skills, and contribute to care plans and reporting for families and agencies.

The role requires Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to obtain with our support), strong safeguarding knowledge, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, or willingness to achieve this qualification with our support.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• A compassionate, resilient and child-centred approach.
• The ability to remain calm and adaptable in challenging situations.
• Confidence using IT systems and maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, trauma-informed relationships with children, young people, families and professionals.
• Provide high-quality physical, emotional and practical support in a safe and nurturing environment.
• Support children and young people to achieve positive outcomes in education, life skills and personal development.
• Contribute to care plans, maintain accurate records and prepare reports for families and professional agencies.
• Promote safeguarding and wellbeing through effective risk assessment and safe working practices.
