Job summary

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a compassionate Residential Support Worker for a role in Lymington, Hampshire. You will provide emotional and practical care to children who have experienced trauma, building therapeutic relationships in a nurturing environment.

The position involves supporting school runs, family contact, and activities, with sleep-ins and weekend shifts. A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent is preferred, along with a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Experience with trauma-informed approaches is preferred.
• 21+ age requirement stated in the job description.
• Full, clean UK driving licence required for transport using home vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored emotional and practical care to meet each child's needs.
• Build trusting, therapeutic relationships and act as a positive role model.
• Support school runs, activities, and family contact using home vehicles.
• Plan and facilitate recreational and educational activities that promote development.
• Support children toward personal development milestones.
• Carry out household duties and maintain a warm, welcoming environment.
• Complete daily records, logs, and health and safety checks.
• Collaborate with social workers, educators and other professionals.
• Work 24-hour shift patterns including sleep-ins, weekends and bank holidays.
