Job summary

Shared Services Partnership in Romsey is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join Hockley House, a new children’s home for ages 12–18, offering trauma-informed care in a collaborative environment with education and health professionals.

You’ll build trusted relationships, provide practical and emotional support, contribute to care plans and records, and help young people develop life skills. A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare is preferred, with training supported by the employer.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 3 Diploma or be willing to achieve with support.
• Understand child development and safeguarding; trauma-informed care.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Compassionate, resilient, child-centered approach.
• Ability to stay calm and adaptable in challenging situations.
• Confidence using IT systems and maintaining records.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, trauma-informed relationships with children, families and professionals.
• Provide high-quality physical, emotional and practical support in a safe environment.
• Help children achieve positive outcomes in education, life skills and personal development.
• Contribute to care plans, maintain records and prepare reports for families and agencies.
• Promote safeguarding and wellbeing through risk assessment and safe working practices.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver therapeutic care and support plans.
