Job summary

Northumberland County Council seeks a dedicated Behaviour Support Officer to advance the learning of young people at Kyloe House, a secure children’s home near Morpeth. You will work with individual pupils, small groups and whole classes in collaboration with the teaching staff to monitor progress and record outcomes.

The role requires emotional resilience and CALM competencies, with a commitment to trauma-informed education and high standards of care for residents.

Qualifications

• Emotional resilience to work with young people in a secure children’s home.
• Able to meet requirements of CALM.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and support in lessons in liaison with the class teacher.
• Monitor pupils, assess, record and report on pupils’ achievement, progress and development.
• Support learning by working with individuals, groups and whole classes when the assigned teacher is not present.
