Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking committed and resilient Behaviour & Mental Health Mentors to support pupils with behavioural challenges in Northumberland and Newcastle secondary schools.

You will deliver targeted short-term interventions, provide 1:1 and small-group support, and collaborate with SENCo and pastoral teams to promote emotional regulation and positive behaviour, all in line with safeguarding protocols.

Contract / Hours: Full time (8:30 - 15:30)
Pay: £95 to £105 per day.

Teaching Personnel is seeking committed and resilient Behaviour & Mental Health Mentors to provide targeted support to pupils presenting behavioural challenges in Northumberland & Newcastle secondary schools. This role involves working closely with the SENCo and teaching staff to deliver structured interventions that promote emotional regulation, engagement, and positive behaviour.

What you'll be doing:

• Delivering short term behaviour interventions to identified pupils
• Providing consistent 1:1 and small group support
• Assisting pupils in developing positive behaviour strategies
• Working collaboratively with SEN and pastoral teams
• Following whole school behaviour and safeguarding protocols

You need:

• Experience supporting children or young people with behavioural needs
• Confidence in delivering structured behavioural support
• Calm, patient and professional under pressure
• Ability to adapt support strategies to meet individual pupil needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
