Are you currently working in a transport environment but feel like you’ve hit a stop sign? Are you looking for a career ‘move’, where you’ll constantly be challenged to grow and develop your skills? Are you ready to take the highway to your next challenge?

GXO is currently seeking a talented and driven individual for the role of Transport Team Leader to join us on the night shift at our B&Q site in Blyth – S81 8HH. Here you will lead a shift of drivers and clerks by giving direction and monitoring performance, to ensure that the department operates efficiently and effectively in providing a quality service.

This is a full time, permanent position, where you’ll be working from 22:00 to 06:00 on an any ‘5 from 7 shift basis’, typical Sunday to Thursday.

You’ll be paid a salary of up to £25,400 per annum, plus an addition 20% night shift premium. What You’ll Do On a Typical Day

• Ensure all driver debriefs are carried out on return from routes to ascertain if any difficulties were encountered, and obtain management information to aid the management of your driving team
• Identify and resolve operational issues, and where appropriate escalate to the Assistant Transport Manager, ensuring that the transport department always remains legally compliant
• Analyse reports against KPI’s and take actions to improve results, this will include working with our customer to analyse and improve results
• Lead the transport team through the continued growth of the operation and introduce change positively
  
  

What You Need To Succeed At GXO

• You will have experience of working within a transport environment, ideally at a supervisory level
• You will also have experience of managing conflicting priorities in a fast-moving environment, along with planning and organising skills within a transport operation
• You will be a strong team player with excellent communication skills, to champion a can-do attitude
• You will be comfortable taking responsibility demonstrating commitment and leading by example
