Job summary

Müller’s Skelmersdale Depot is seeking a Transport Shift Lead to drive operational excellence in our transport operations. You will coach and develop the team, lead by example and ensure safe, compliant shift performance across KPIs.

In this full-time role, you’ll manage 4 on‑4 off day shifts (06:00–18:00), lead investigations into issues, support continuous improvement, and collaborate cross-functionally to boost business results while upholding a strong safety culture.

• Experience in transport or logistics leadership.
• Strong leadership and coaching skills.
• Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Solid understanding of inbound operations.

Responsibilities

• Drive operational excellence through KPI management and Daily Operations Review (DOR).
• Coach and develop the transport team; conduct performance reviews and development plans.
• Champion health and safety; lead investigations and promote a strong safety culture.
• Ensure legal and audit compliance across shift operations.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to improve business performance.
• Act as escalation point for farm services issues.
• Promote MMID behaviours and succession planning.
• Lead in meeting the criteria for DTAS best practices.

We’re looking for a motivated and experiencedTransport Shift Leadto join our team at theMullerSkelmersdale Depot. In this pivotal role, you’ll lead by example, coach and develop your team, and drive continuous improvement across our transport operations.

• Shift Pattern: –4 on - 4 off (DayShift – 06:00 -18:00)

• Manage people effectively, including performance reviews, development plans, and employee relations.
• Champion health and safety, leading investigations and promoting a strong safety culture.
• Ensure legal and audit compliance across shift operations.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to improve business performance.
• Act as the escalation point for farm services issues.
• Promote and embed MMID behaviours and succession planning.
• Lead in meeting the criteria for DTAS best practices
