Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is seeking a skilled Transport Planner to join the Highway Development Management Team. You will assess the highways impact of planning applications, provide advice on transport evidence, and coordinate related studies.

You will negotiate mitigation through Section 106 agreements, help develop transport policy, and engage with partners and stakeholders to secure positive outcomes for development proposals.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND/NVQ4 in civil engineering or transportation or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in highway development management or land-use planning.
• Experience in collaborative working with customers and stakeholders to deliver outputs and outcomes.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills including experience of effectively negotiating with external organisations such as developers.

Responsibilities

• Conduct transport assessments detailing highways impact of planning applications.
• Provide advice on commissioning transport evidence to underpin assessments.
• Negotiate highways mitigation for development proposals including Section 106 and funding sources.
• Contribute to the development of transport policy and transport studies, and the development plan process.
• Represent the Department at events and maintain effective partnerships with internal and external parties.
