Job summary
Leicestershire County Council has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Planning and Highway Lawyer to join its Environment & Property legal team. The post holder will provide specialist legal advice on planning and highway matters, including major development proposals, planning committees and section 106 obligations, with highways support where relevant.
This role requires a strong background in planning and development law, ability to advise at senior officer and Member level, and to
Qualifications
- Qualified solicitor or barrister, or equivalent, with recent planning/highways law experience.
- Experience advising at senior officer and Member level and attendance at planning committees.
- Knowledge of S106 planning agreements, S38 & S278 agreements, enforcement and appeals.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialist planning and highways legal advice.
- Advise on planning committee work and major development proposals.
- Draft and negotiate S106 planning agreements and highway infrastructure agreements.
- Support planning and development activity with highways infrastructure.
