Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is seeking an experienced Planning & Highways Lawyer to join the Environment & Property legal team. The role focuses on advising senior officers and elected Members on complex planning and highway matters that shape growth and infrastructure across Leicestershire.

The post holder will provide specialist legal advice on planning issues, including committees, major development proposals, section 106 obligations, enforcement and appeals.

Qualifications

• Strong background in planning and development law.
• Experience advising at Member level or senior officers.
• Comfortable attending planning committees and giving clear, practical legal advice.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist legal advice on a wide range of planning issues, including committee work and major proposals.
• Advice on section 106 obligations, enforcement and appeals, and highways/infrastructure matters.
• Support planning and development activity through clear, practical legal guidance.
