NXA Talent are delighted to be partnering with a national haulier for a key planning hire with strategic transport experience to help plan their national network.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan efficient routes and driver schedules using TMS to optimise national haulage network
• Tailoring daily transport plan to regional need and operational variances
• Observe and monitor adherence to UK/EU rules on driver working hours, breaks, and tachograph usage.
• Utilise network resource as needed across the network
• Record issues across the operation and flag to appropriate senior leadership
• Utilise subcontractors and other external resource as necessary
• Manage relationships with permanent and agency drivers

Skillset

• Strong decision-making and commercial judgment in time-sensitive, peak-demand environments
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experience with planning systems/TMS
• Familiar with industry legislation (VOSA)
• Experience in transport planning is necessary with a background in general haulage being highly advantageous
• Commercial approach to transport planning is an advantage
