Job summary

Whistl in Manchester is seeking a proactive Transport Planner to join our busy logistics operation. You will plan daily collections and deliveries, optimise routes and ensure compliance with drivers' hours and transport legislation.

You will work with drivers, depots and customers, maintain accurate records and generate performance reports to support continuous improvement across the network.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a transport planning, transport coordinator or logistics planning role.
  • Knowledge of transport regulations including Drivers' Hours and Working Time Directive.
  • Experience using transport planning or fleet management systems.
  • Good knowledge of the UK road network.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Intermediate Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Flexible with hours; evening and weekend work may be required.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Are you a Transport Planner looking for your next challenge within a fast-paced logistics operation?

We're looking for a proactive and analytical Transport Planner to join our Transport team, ensuring collections and deliveries across our HGV and van network are planned efficiently, cost-effectively, and in line with customer requirements and legal compliance.

You'll play a key role in keeping our network running smoothly, optimising routes and resources, and supporting continuous improvement across the operation.

Requirements
What We're Looking For
  • Previous experience in a transport planning, transport coordinator or logistics planning role.
  • Knowledge of transport regulations, including Drivers' Hours and the Working Time Directive.
  • Experience using transport planning or fleet management systems.
  • Good geographical knowledge of the UK road network.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Intermediate Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
  • To be flexible with hours of work, as evening and weekend work may be required in line with business requirements
  • Full UK driving licence.
