Transport Planner

Location: Reading with hybrid working

Salary: 30k - 40k dependent on experience

Emtech are working with a growing Transport & Infrastructure consultancy who are looking for a Transport Planner with at least 1 year of industry experience to join their team in Birmingham city centre. In this role you will be working in a growing transport team with a 5‑year plan in place to double the team size, offering staff the chance to move into more senior roles. This role will give you the chance to take on project‑running responsibility with support from experienced team members.

Projects exist across residential, commercial, education, healthcare and mixed‑use development schemes.

Ideally you will have some of the following experience:
  • Experience in private sector development planning projects including the production of Transport Assessments and Travel Plans
  • Experience in public sector facing transport planning projects
  • An understanding of the planning process in England
  • Experience of public sector governance processes and working in a political environment
  • Experience in the production of, and providing advice regarding, transport strategies and policies
  • Knowledge and experience of applying government policy and guidance to projects
  • Excellent communication skills and interface with clients
  • Experience with AutoCAD and junction design software would be useful but not essential
