Gregory Distribution Ltd. is seeking a Transport Operator to join the Cribbs-based transport team. The role coordinates day-to-day operations for Bristol- and London-based drivers, handling transport administration and ongoing scheduling across peak and off-peak periods.

You will drive improvements in efficiency, performance, and customer satisfaction while maintaining strict compliance and safety standards. A robust background in transport operations is preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous transport operations experience within the Transport and Logistics industry.
• Knowledge of Manpack traffic system is advantageous.
• Ability to communicate at all levels.
• Strong geographical knowledge of the UK.
• Excellent organisational skills and prioritising workload.
• Attention to detail is critical and working to deadlines daily.
• Able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.
• Computer literate with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate transport activities across peak and off-peak periods to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
• Manage day-to-day transport challenges, providing clear direction and conducting driver debriefs.
• Build strong working relationships with customers to maintain high service standards and seamless operations.
• Support, manage, and debrief drivers to ensure compliance, performance, and continuous improvement.
• Maximise fleet and resource utilisation through proactive planning and effective allocation.
• Produce regular operational reports, identifying trends and making informed recommendations for improvement.
• Handle queries professionally across multiple channels, including email, telephone, and face-to-face interactions.
• Assist in the production and analysis of KPIs and daily operational statistics.
• Provide hands-on support in the event of breakdowns or disruptions to minimise impact on service.
• Foster positive working relationships within the team, contributing to a supportive and high-performing environment.

Transport Operator

Location: Cribbs

Shift: Monday- Friday Nights

Job Description: We are looking for an enthusiastic Transport Operator to join our team. This position will work closely within the transport team and will involve all aspects of transport administration processes, as well as coordinating the day-to-day running of this busy contract.

Based in Cribbs Causeway, the role will be responsible for controlling transport operations for both Bristol- and London-based drivers. This is a growing operation, with plans to expand in line with increasing customer demand, offering an exciting opportunity to be part of a developing and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Planning & Organisation: Effectively coordinate transport activities across both peak and off-peak periods to ensure smooth and efficient operations.


• Operational Leadership: Manage day-to-day transport challenges, providing clear direction and conducting thorough driver debriefs.
