Job summary

Gregory Distribution Ltd in Cullompton seeks a Class 1 Driver to cover trunking operations across the hub network, with nights Monday–Friday. You will load, secure, and verify freight, perform daily safety checks, and stay compliant with DCPC standards.

Responsibilities

• Cover trunking operations between hubs, Burts and delivery points, ensuring efficient collection, delivery and return loading through the hub network.
• Provide cover for internal trunking, ensuring freight is checked and verified against manifests at each depot.
• Load and secure goods to a high standard using restraints to prevent movement or damage in transit.
• Carry out daily vehicle safety checks using company device, maintaining compliance and reliability.
• Maintain clear communication with the transport team and provide timely updates for efficiency and service.
• Attend and engage in regular training to stay compliant with industry regulations and best practices.

Class 1 Driver

Location: Cullompton, Pallet Networks

Shift: Monday - Friday, Nights

About The Role

As a Class 1 Driver, you will:

• Cover a variety of trunking operations, including straight runs between hubs or Burts and designated delivery points, ensuring efficient collection, delivery, and return loading through the hub network.
• Provide cover for internal trunking when required, ensuring all freight is accurately checked and verified against manifests at each depot.
• Load and secure goods to a high standard, using appropriate restraints (straps, nets, etc.) to prevent movement or damage in transit.
• Carry out thorough daily vehicle safety checks using your company device, maintaining high standards of compliance and reliability.
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with the transport team, providing timely updates to support operational efficiency and customer service.
• Attend and engage in regular training to remain compliant with industry regulations and best practice standards.
