Transport Operator Location: Bridgwater Shift: Monday
This position will work closely within the transport team and will involve all aspects of transport administration processes, as well as coordinating the day-to-day running of this busy contract.
Based in Bridgwater, the role will be responsible for controlling transport operations with nationwide driver coverage.
This is a growing operation, with plans to expand in line with increasing customer demand, offering an exciting opportunity to be part of a developing and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities: Planning & Organisation: Effectively coordinate transport activities across both peak and off-peak periods to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Operational Leadership: Manage day-to-day transport challenges, providing clear direction and conducting thorough driver debriefs.
Customer Engagement: Build strong working relationships with customers to maintain high service standards and seamless operations.
Driver Coordination: Support, manage, and debrief drivers to ensure compliance, performance, and continuous improvement.
Resource Management: Maximise fleet and resource utilisation through proactive planning and effective allocation.
Reporting & Analysis: Produce regular operational reports, identifying trends and making informed recommendations for improvement.
Communication: Handle queries professionally across multiple channels, including email, telephone, and face-to-face interactions.
Performance Monitoring: Assist in the production and analysis of KPIs and daily operational statistics.
Operational Support: Provide hands-on support in the event of breakdowns or disruptions to minimise impact on service.
Team Collaboration: Foster positive working relationships within the team, contributing to a supportive and high-performing environment.
Required Experience: Previous Transport operations experience working within the Transport and Logistics industry.
Knowledge of Manpack traffic system is advantageous.
Ability to communicate at all levels.
Strong geographical knowledge of the UK. Excellent organisational skills and prioritising workload.
Attention to detail is critical and working to deadlines daily.
Able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.
MS packages to include, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
