Job description

Join our team as Transport Operations Manager

As we continue to grow along with our customer IKEA, you’ll be leading in our brand new, state of the art depot in Dartford. You will be leading a team of Supervisors, Drivers, and Clerical colleagues to ensure the relevant delivery, productivity, and financial performance indicators are met to deliver best in class service to our customer.

Experience of home-delivery or one/two person delivery essential.

40 Hours (4 on 4 off shift pattern, 4am to 4pm/ 8am to 8pm).
Salary: Up to £46,200 per annum dependent on level of experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Internal and external stakeholder communication, including meetings with customer, conveying facts and ideas in a clear and articulated manner.
  2. Encourage team engagement, development, and coaching, including encouragement of two-way feedback and ideas within the team to continuously focus on best-in-class delivery and improvement (also including HR processes: performance reviews, investigations etc).
  3. Drive innovation and high performance with integrity, through high levels of safe working and practices.
  4. H&S delivery and regulations adhered to.
  5. Deliver transport fleet management and compliance, upskilling colleagues with transportation safety/compliance.
  6. Oversee performance delivery ensuring a high level of NPS/customer feedback is achieved.
  7. Ensure all product returns, stock debriefs are achieved.
  8. Deliver and track on transport KPIs/SLAs.
  9. Assist with driver hours in line with legislations, along with organization of service and maintenance of vehicles.
  10. Ensure vehicle and driver records are managed in line with legislations and best practices.
  11. Point of liaison for escalation and incident reports.
