Transport Operations Manager for Patient Care

Our client is seeking to recruit a seasoned professional, ideally with experience managing patient transportation and drivers.

The role involves organizing and managing a team of approximately 30 personnel.

This position operates over two shifts from Monday to Friday: 6:00 am to 4:00 pm or 12:00 noon to 9:00 pm.

Working in a team environment is crucial for success; therefore, maintaining positive relationships with colleagues is essential.

Providing excellent service is vital for our expansion and maintaining partner trust.

The Operations Manager ensures consistent delivery of service by utilizing data metrics and staff development, fostering continuous improvement to retain staff and scale the business.

You will have specific responsibilities including:

  1. Managing all staff within the operations group, including onboarding, shift optimization, holiday and sickness management, absenteeism, and performance.
  2. Implementing improved operational procedures across all shifts, standardizing call answering, customer management, issue reporting, and maintaining a professional environment.
  3. Understanding and managing operational technology, primarily Echo, telecoms, and future innovations.
  4. Working with the Operations Director and COO to develop KPIs and using these to drive improvements.
  5. Collaborating with the Driver Services Manager to allocate patient journeys fairly and optimize work distribution.
  6. Working closely with the Head of Fleet to match supply with demand and meet SLA criteria.
  7. Partnering with the sales team and leadership on new business integration.
  8. Managing daily pricing exceptions accurately.
  9. Working with the Head of Compliance & Training to address queries and issues.

Skills required

  • Previous experience in a similar role is essential.
  • Experience using data to enhance performance.
  • Ability to communicate ideas clearly to senior management.
  • Upholding ethical behavior and professional standards in line with healthcare values.
  • Assessing situations to determine importance, urgency, and risks, with appropriate escalation.
  • Proficiency in key packages such as Microsoft Excel and BI tools.
