Job summary

Greggs Leeds Bakery is seeking a Transport Manager to lead a fleet of around 35 vehicles and a team of about 80 drivers, 9 Team Leaders, and 3 Shift Supervisors, delivering to nearly 289 shop locations each week.

You will collaborate with warehouse teams to develop an efficient, cost-effective delivery profile, drive continuous improvement, ensure fleet servicing and regulatory compliance, and recruit and coach your transport team to enhance performance.

Qualifications

• Hold a National CPC or International CPC (Training may be given).
• Knowledge of WTD and all relevant transport legislation.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of drivers and supervisors to deliver against the logistics strategy.
• Drive a culture of excellence, openness and continuous improvement
• Responsible for Transport Planning and Problem Solving
• Ensure fleet is serviced and maintained and compliant with legislation and policy
• Recruit, train, and coach transport team members to improve performance
• Create and implement rota patterns for 24-7 cover while maintaining service and budgetary control
• Develop and maintain KPIs to drive improvement
• Ensure Health and Safety and Food Hygiene regulations are followed
• Promote a Food Safety Culture within the team
• Oversee training in line with policy and legal compliance
• Lead with visibility via meetings and coaching
• Achieve targets, continuous improvements and projects
• Conduct regular performance reviews and development plans
• Keep knowledge and skills up to date
