Job summary

Bakeri Baltzersen in Harrogate is seeking a Lead Driver / Transport Supervisor to manage a bakery delivery operation and lead a team of drivers. The role combines hands-on driving with coordinating daily routes and fleet management.

You would regularly drive, supervise the driver team, plan routes, and ensure on-time deliveries while maintaining vehicle records and coordinating with customers. A full UK licence is required.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence and hands-on delivery experience.
• Experience supervising or coordinating drivers or a small team.
• Interest in night-time / early morning shift work and leadership duties.

Responsibilities

• Regularly completing delivery routes yourself.
• Lead and support the driver team day to day.
• Coordinate daily deliveries and dispatch drivers.
• Plan routes and allocate drivers and vehicles.
• Assist with packing at the start of shifts.
• Ensure orders are packed, loaded and depart on time.
• Onboard and train new drivers.
• Monitor driver performance and vehicle tracking.
• Liaise with customers regarding deliveries.
• Maintain delivery and vehicle records.
• Help improve routes and day-to-day processes.
• Look after fleet of eight vans, arranging servicing and checks.
