Job summary

Greggs in Birmingham is seeking a Transport Supervisor to oversee the distribution of our products, ensuring deliveries to shops are on time and within budget. You will schedule routes and drivers, manage vehicle availability and monitor cost and customer KPIs.

You will lead a great Transport team and ensure driver training is up-to-date while maintaining health, safety and food hygiene standards. You’ll support the Transport Manager, drive departmental improvements and develop proactive

Qualifications

• Experience in managing, developing and motivating teams.
• Understanding of vehicle legislation, Drivers' hours and Tachograph legislation.
• Knowledge and experience of chill chain, temperature-controlled delivery operation and daily fresh operations.
• Prioritisation skills enabling you to manage a fast and evolving workload for yourself and your team.
• Be supportive of an inclusive culture - recognising and valuing that difference is good.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of distribution and ensure timely deliveries to shops.
• Execute transport plan, including scheduling routes and drivers, vehicle availability, and KPIs.
• Lead the Transport team; ensure driver training is up-to-date and health, safety and food hygiene standards are followed.
• Support the Transport Manager; drive departmental improvements and proactive transport approaches.
