Greggs Leeds Bakery is seeking a Transport Manager to lead a 50-vehicle fleet and a team of around 130 drivers, delivering to more than 520 store locations. You will collaborate with warehouse teams to optimize delivery profiles for cost efficiency and service.

Qualifications

• Hold a National CPC or International CPC; training may be provided.
• Up-to-date knowledge of WTD and transport legislation.
• Strong ownership and leadership with ability to drive performance.
• Proven ability to coach and develop teams, and manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience in transport planning and delivering cost-efficient solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead drivers and supervisors to execute the logistics strategy.
• Drive a culture of excellence, openness and continuous improvement.
• Oversee Transport Planning and problem solving.
• Ensure fleet service, maintenance, and compliance with regulations.
• Recruit, train and coach transport team, addressing underperformance.
• Create and manage rotas for 24-7 cover while controlling service and budget.
• Develop KPIs and utilise them to drive improvements.
• Ensure Health and Safety and Food Hygiene standards are met.
• Foster a Food Safety culture within the team.
• Lead training in line with policy and legal compliance.
• Manage monthly 1-2-1s, development plans and target setting.
• Keep knowledge and skills up to date.
