Job summary

P+S Personnel seeks a Transport Coordinator to join our client’s team in Great Yarmouth on a full-time, 12-month fixed term contract. You will liaise with customers and haulage providers, plan daily despatches, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

The role requires strong interpersonal and telephone skills, a proactive, team-oriented approach, and the ability to manage multiple bookings across sites. On-site parking is available and hours are standard Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Previous experience in a customer facing role.
• A can-do attitude and ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Excellent telephone manner and clear communication at all levels.
• Ability to work in a small onsite team and coordinate with other sites.

Responsibilities

• Report to the National Transport Manager and Site Manager.
• Communicate with customers and hauliers in a polite and courteous manner.
• Organise and allocate delivered orders to haulage contractors efficiently.
• Monitor and plan daily despatch tonnages to meet requirements.
• Maintain the national haulier database and ensure up-to-date information.
• Ensure bookings are executed daily and update chasers system as needed.
• Assist despatch desk and ensure health and safety rules for contractors.
