Job summary

OA Group is seeking a Transport Coordinator in Stevenage to join a busy distribution team. The role covers daily carrier coordination, paperwork processing, and liaison with drivers, customers and internal departments.

The successful candidate will have prior transport/logistics experience, strong IT skills, and excellent organisational abilities. Hours are 8:30am–5:00pm, Monday to Friday, with a £27,930 salary and opportunities to develop transport and logistics expertise.

• Previous experience within transport, logistics, distribution or warehousing is essential.
• Good IT skills and confidence using spreadsheets and internal systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Good communication and customer service abilities.
• Ability to multitask and prioritise in a busy environment.
• Professional telephone manner and team-focused attitude.
• Ability to use initiative and resolve issues effectively.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily carrier consignments and customer deliveries.
• Process transport and warehouse paperwork.
• Prepare customer delivery notes, driver paperwork and export documentation.
• Liaise with drivers, carriers, customers and internal teams.
• Investigate and report picking, loading and dispatch issues.
• Process Purchase Orders for incoming supplier deliveries.
• Keep transport records, spreadsheets and internal systems up to date.
• Support stock counts and produce relevant reports.
• Process customer credits and check orders.
• Maintain filing and transport documentation.
• Answer incoming calls and deal with transport and customer queries.
• Provide support to Transport and Warehouse teams.
• Cover additional duties during holidays and busy periods.

An excellent opportunity has now arisen for a Transport Coordinator to join our client's successful and busy distribution team.

Who are they?
Our client is a well-established distribution business with a busy transport and warehouse operation. They are looking for an organised and reliable individual with previous experience in transport, logistics, distribution or warehousing to support the day-to-day running of the operation.

This is a varied role covering transport coordination, carrier consignments, delivery paperwork, export documentation and warehouse support.

Duties of a Transport Coordinator:

• Coordinate daily carrier consignments and customer deliveries
• Process transport and warehouse paperwork

What we would like from you:

Experience as a Transport Coordinator, Transport Administrator, Logistics Coordinator, Logistics Administrator, Transport Planner or within a busy distribution or warehouse environment would be advantageous.
