Job summary

Interaction Recruitment Group is seeking a Transport Coordinator - Europe to join our Burton-on-Trent team. You will coordinate European road freight and international transport movements, ensuring customer requirements are met from order to delivery.

Based in Burton-on-Trent, you will liaise with customers, hauliers and suppliers, manage orders in Tra+ and maintain records and KPI reporting for key customers. This is a fast-paced role within the Transport Solutions team.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate European road freight movements from order through to delivery.
• Receive customer orders via telephone, email, transport portals and other communication methods.
• Accurately input and manage transport orders using the Tra+ operating system.
• Match customer requirements with appropriate transport solutions and approved suppliers.
• Arrange and coordinate collections and deliveries across the European transport network.
• Liaise with hauliers, freight partners, customers and suppliers throughout the transport process.
• Monitor transport movements and provide regular updates to customers.
• Manage delays, issues and changes quickly and effectively.
• Ensure all transport requirements are fully understood and communicated.

Transport Coordinator - Europe

Location: Burton-on-Trent, DE14

Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 DOE

Hours: Monday - Friday, 08:00 - 17:00 or equivalent (1-hour lunch)

Reporting to: Operations Manager

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Transport Coordinator - Europe to join a busy Transport Solutions team based in Burton-on-Trent.

This is a fast-paced role focused on coordinating European road freight and international transport movements, ensuring customer requirements are met and collections and deliveries are managed efficiently from start to finish.

You will be responsible for receiving and managing customer orders, sourcing and coordinating appropriate transport solutions, liaising with customers, hauliers and suppliers, and ensuring all transport movements are delivered in line with agreed requirements.

Key Responsibilities

European Transport Coordination

• Coordinate European road freight movements from order through to delivery
• Receive customer orders via telephone, email, transport portals and other communication methods
• Accurately input and manage transport orders using the Tra+ operating system
• Match customer requirements with appropriate transport solutions and approved suppliers
• Arrange and coordinate collections and deliveries across the European transport network
• Liaise with hauliers, freight partners, customers and suppliers throughout the transport process
• Monitor transport movements and provide regular updates to customers
• Manage delays, issues and changes quickly and effectively
• Ensure all transport requirements are fully understood and communicated

International Transport Requirements

Ensure each movement meets all relevant operational requirements, including:

• Collection and delivery opening times
• Site and driver safety procedures
• Driver PPE requirements
• ADR requirements
• Customs and export documentation
• Security requirements
• Transit time expectations
• European delivery and collection requirements

Escalate any operational issues or non-conformance to the Operations Manager and Branch Manager where required.

Administration & Reporting

• Maintain accurate transport records and system information
• Produce bespoke KPI reports for key customers
• Monitor transport profitability alongside the Operations Manager
• Provide weekly customer service and operational reports
• Ensure all customer and supplier rates, agreements and additional charges are accurately recorded
