Job summary

Veolia is seeking a Transport Coordinator (PM Shift) at our Central Depot in Bromley. The role offers a £28,000 annual salary and a 40-hour week.

You will be the main contact for drivers when the lead driver or Transport Controller is unavailable, ensuring welfare and efficient day-to-day operations. You will manage KPI sheets, mileage and fuel trackers, plan work proactively, and maintain strong communication with drivers and customers.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact for drivers when lead driver or Transport Controller are unavailable; manage day-to-day welfare issues.
• Assist toolbox talks, deliver business messages to drivers; maintain strong verbal and written communication with stakeholders.
• Ensure timely completion of KPI sheets, fuel/mileage trackers and demurrage sheets; avoid backlogs.
• Modify work assignments as needed; communicate changes to drivers; plan proactively.
• Maintain regular communication with internal and external customers; provide advice and escalate to management.
• Maintain customer focus; resolve complaints and update customers on ETAs to ensure service quality.
• Coordinate with drivers for daily ETA updates; liaise with workshops as needed.
• Attend customer meetings with VHL management; build relationships and uphold company image.

What you'll be doing;

• Assist with toolbox talk compliance, deliver business messages to drivers, and maintain strong verbal and written communication (face-to-face, phone, email) with all stakeholders.
• Ensure timely completion of KPI sheets, fuel/mileage trackers, and demurrage sheets without allowing backlogs to accumulate.
• Modify work assignments as needed, communicate changes effectively to drivers, and plan proactively rather than reactively to stay ahead of operational needs.
• Maintain strong regular communication with internal and external customers, provide appropriate advice while consulting management when necessary.
• Maintain Veolia's customer focus value through a customer-first approach, resolve complaints/issues promptly, and update customers on ETA changes to ensure excellent service delivery.
• Communicate effectively between internal and external customers, liaise with drivers on daily ETA updates, and coordinate with internal/external workshops as needed.
• Participate in customer meetings with VHL management team, develop and maintain strong customer relationships, and ensure company image, reputation, and achievements are represented to maximum effect.
