Job summary

WR Logistics in Aberdeen is seeking a dedicated Transport Coordinator to support a busy transport function. You will coordinate import and export road shipments from start to finish, provide quotations, and ensure clients receive excellent customer service throughout their enquiry.

You will liaise with internal and external clients on transport-related issues and bookings, ensuring shipments are managed efficiently, accurately and in line with procedures and HMRC regulations.

Qualifications

• Experience handling European road freight.
• UK-based with UK experience in this field.
• Dangerous Goods knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide competitive pricing and transport solutions to clients; ensure awarded jobs are processed to completion.
• Provide proactive updates to clients and resolve issues that arise during shipments.
• Bill clients per working SOPs and prepare necessary paperwork (pre-alerts, CMRs).
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth transport service operations.
• Ensure job files are processed and completed within the TMS system.
• Plan loads for domestic and international trailers.
• Comply with company standards, Quality, Health & Safety, Compliance and HMRC regulations.
• Operate within legal requirements including dangerous goods, customs and transport security.
• Follow customer policies and procedures and report hazards when they occur.
• Maintain high quality and efficiency in task completion.

Our client is looking for a Transport Coordinator to support their busy transport function in Aberdeen. The role will involve coordinating import and export road shipments from start to finish, including providing quotations and ensuring clients receive excellent customer service throughout their enquiry.

You will liaise with both internal and external clients on transport-related issues and bookings, while ensuring shipments are managed efficiently, accurately and in line with the required procedures and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide competitive pricing and transport solutions to clients that meets their needs
• Ensuring that awarded jobs and processed and followed through to completion
• Provide proactive updates to clients, resolving any issues that may arise
• Billing clients as per working SOPs
• Producing and completing all necessary paperwork, such as pre-alerts and CMRs
• Liaising with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth running of transport service
• Ensure job files are processed and completed within the TMS
• Load planning for both domestic and international trailers
• Work in accordance with company standards, guidelines and policies, including Quality, Health & Safety, Compliance and HMRC regulations
• Operate within relevant legal requirements, including dangerous goods, customs, quarantine and transport security
• Follow customer policies and procedures
• Report hazards, near misses and events immediately
• Maintain a high standard of work quality through accuracy and efficiency when completing tasks

Experience required

• European and Domestic Road Freight Experience
• UK based with UK experience within this field
• Dangerous Goods Knowledge (Preferred)
