Job summary

The Caraires Consultancy is seeking a Transport Clerk for immediate start in Rugby on a temporary basis until Christmas, with a view to permanent work. The role pays £13.25–£15.48 per hour and includes day shifts 6 am–6 pm or 7 am–7 pm, plus a Sunday–Thursday option. Transport experience and IT proficiency are essential.

Responsibilities include driver debriefing, real-time TMS updates, customer liaison, and ensuring regulatory compliance and paperwork accuracy. Location requires on-site work.

Brief/Debrief Transport Clerks

Temporary until Xmas with a chance of a permanent role

£13.25 - £15.48 Per Hour

2 x 4 on 4 off Day shift 6 am - 6 pm OR 7am - 7pm

1 Sunday - Thursday 7 am - 5 pm OR 8 am - 6 pm

Rugby - Transport required due to location

Main Duties:

As a Transport Clerk you will be responsible for day-to-day administration, ensuring drivers, vehicles, and deliveries are perfectly aligned and compliant.

Key Responsibilities:

• Driver Brief & Debrief: Efficiently dispatch drivers with correct paperwork and accurately debrief them upon return, checking for any delivery issues or delays.
• System Management: Update and maintain the Transport Management Systems (TMS) in real-time.
• Customer Service: Act as a key point of contact for drivers, sub-contractors, and customers, resolving queries professionally.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure all transport operations comply with legal requirements, including driver hours (WTD) and health and safety regulations.
• Paperwork & Administration: Manage delivery notes, proof of deliveries (PODs), and manifest tracking accurately.

About You

To succeed in this role, you need to be a great communicator who can stay calm under pressure, with previous transport experience, who can hit the ground running!
