Job summary

Leicester City Council is hiring for a Homelessness Prevention and Support role. The post is full-time, 37 hours per week, with hybrid working between home and Leicester City Offices, offering a competitive salary £36,581 - £39,481 per year and a total benefits package.

You will deliver housing-related support, help clients secure settled accommodation, collaborate with health, police, social services and voluntary bodies, and strive to improve outcomes for some of the city’s most vulnerable

Qualifications

Compassion and enthusiasm for working with the homeless.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Resilience to work under pressure in a demanding environment.
Sound organisational and planning ability with risk management.
Strong communication and customer care skills.

Responsibilities

Deliver housing-related support face-to-face in an office, at home, or in the community, and over the telephone.
Assist homeless customers to achieve settled accommodation and manage contributing issues.
Work with other professional services and housing teams to facilitate sustainable outcomes for customers.
Maintain dignity, independence and quality of life for homeless customers.
