Job summary

Landmarc is seeking a Training Area Operative to support the Defence Training Estate. The role involves outdoor work, operating and maintaining training areas, and ensuring safety and efficiency for Armed Forces training.

You will perform range preparation, flag signals, and basic admin on tablets and paper. A full UK driving licence and basic IT skills are required; training and development opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Basic maintenance skills and awareness of Safety protocols.
• Flexible and reliable with a practical mindset.
• Full manual UK Driving Licence required.
• Plant and Machinery Operator Qualifications preferred.
• Knowledge of ranges and training areas is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Raise and lower safety flags; open/close barriers.
• Hand Over / Take Back of Ranges and Dry Training Facilities.
• Manufacturing targets and preparing training areas for use.
• Preventative Maintenance and Reactive/Grounds Maintenance.
• Operate Plant and Equipment and drive fleet vehicles.
• Ensure safety and condition of the Defence Training Estate.

Join our dedicated team as a Training Area Operative and play a key part in helping to maintain a safe, efficient and sustainable place for our Armed Forces to train.

Salary: £13.97 per hour

Location: Wathgill Camp, Wathgill, Richmond, North Yorkshire, DL11 6AH

Shifts:Can vary from 07:00 - 23:59

Workload: Varies based on firing schedules. No firing = No working requirement. Some weeks are busy; others may have no shifts.

Contract: Variable Hours (Minimum 8 hours per month guaranteed)

Rota’s: Will be provided monthly to ensure availability.
