Job summary

Landmarc provides essential support services for Armed Forces training across the UK Defence Training Estate, maintaining safe and sustainable infrastructure and ranges. This role contributes to major projects and grounds maintenance, with full training and continuous development opportunities.

Location: Barossa Ranges, Landmarc Support Services, Royal Military Sandhurst. Permanent / on-site; hours 08:00–16:30, Mon–Fri, with extended bandwidth hours as needed.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Landscape Maintenance and Grounds Maintenance
  • Basic IT skills with ability to use a tablet
  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse, fast-paced team environment
  • Good knowledge of Health & Safety and COSHH protocols and risk assessments
  • Flexibility to cover additional sites
  • A valid Manual UK driving licence is essential to carry out the duties of this role
  • Knowledge of working in a rural environment
  • Knowledge of range assignment instructions and range standing orders
  • Experience of track and fencing maintenance
  • Experience as a range / training area user

Responsibilities

  • To ensure that the Defence Training Estate is kept in top condition
  • Carry out preventative, planned and reactive maintenance tasks
  • Grounds and Landscape Maintenance
  • Operation and maintenance of plant and equipment (training provided)
  • Manufacturing and deploying targets
  • Equipment testing calibrating
  • Driving and operating fleet vehicles
  • Waste and Vegetation management
  • Use of Warning systems including training control offices, flags and lights
  • Ensure that the facilities adhere to strict safety protocols
  • Complete all necessary documentation using both IT and paper-based systems

Services are currently seeking to recruit a Training Area Operative to join our dedicated team. In this role you will play a key part in helping to maintain a safe, efficient and sustainable place for our Armed Forces to train.

We are looking for someone enthusiastic

Location: Barossa Ranges, Landmarc Support Services, Royal Military Sandhurst, GU47 0PR

Contract: Permanent / On-site

Hours:08:00 - 16:30 Monday to Friday Core Hours. 06:00 - 23:30 (Extended Bandwidth Hours) - Rotas to be discussed at Interview.
