Job summary

Landmarc Support Services recruiting a Training Area Operative to maintain and support Defence Training Estate facilities. The role involves outdoor, hands-on maintenance across Barossa Ranges and Royal Military Sandhurst sites with full training provided and career progression opportunities.

The ideal candidate will have a background in landscape/grounds maintenance, a UK driving licence, and a proactive, can-do attitude to support the Armed Forces training environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in landscape or grounds maintenance is preferred.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety and COSHH protocols.
• Valid Manual UK driving licence is essential.
• Ability to work in a rural outdoor environment.
• Willingness to cover additional sites.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Defence Training Estate to a high standard.
• Carry out preventative, planned and reactive maintenance.
• Operate and maintain relevant plant and equipment (training provided).
• Manufacture and deploy targets as required.
• Test and calibrate equipment.
• Drive and operate fleet vehicles.
• Manage waste and vegetation.
• Follow safety protocols and use warning systems.
• Ensure documentation is completed using IT and paper systems.

Landmarc Support Services are currently seeking to recruit a Training Area Operative to join our dedicated team . In this role you will play a key part in helping to maintain a safe, efficient and sustainable place for our Armed Forces to train.

We are looking for someone enthusiastic about working in an outdoor environment, dedicated to supporting the Military . Landmarc provide full training and continuous development opportunities, making this a fantastic opportunity to start a career on the Defence Training Estate.

• Location: Barossa Ranges, Landmarc Support Services, Royal Military Sandhurst, GU47 0PR
• Contract: Permanent / On-site
• Hours:08:00 - 16:30 Monday to Friday Core Hours. 06:00 - 23:30 (Extended Bandwidth Hours) - Rotas to be discussed at Interview.

What You’ll Do

• To ensure that the Defence Training Estateis kept in top condition
• Carry out preventative, planned and reactive maintenance tasks
• Grounds and Landscape Maintenance
• Operation and maintenance of plant and equipment (training provided)
• Manufacturing and deploying targets
• Equipment testing calibrating
• Driving and operating fleet vehicles
• Waste and Vegetation management
• Use of Warning systems including training control offices, flags and lights
• Ensure that the facilities adhere to strict safety protocols
• Complete all necessary documentation using both IT and paper-based systems

What We’re Looking For

• Knowledge of Landscape Maintenance and Grounds Maintenance
• Basic IT skills with ability to use a tablet
• Ability to work effectively in a diverse, fast-paced team environment
• Good knowledge of Health & Safety and COSHH protocols and risk assessments
• Flexibility to cover additional sites
• A valid Manual UK driving licence is essential to carry out the duties of this role
• Knowledge of working in a rural environment
• Knowledge of range assignment instructions and range standing orders
• Experience of track ad fencing maintenance
• Experience as a range / training area user
