Job summary

The New Art Gallery Walsall offers a 12-month fixed-term traineeship for a Trainee Visitor Experience Assistant. The role is part-time (18.5 hours per week) with a training allowance of about £12,206 per year (£12.65 per hour).

You will support the Visitor Experience Team with day-to-day activities, events, and front of house duties, including welcoming visitors and assisting with learning resources.

Qualifications

  • Good administration skills and computer literacy.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome visitors to the Gallery and assist with front of house operations.
  • Support events and workshops setup and run learning activities.
  • Assist with stock ordering and production of worksheets.
  • Engage with learners and Sunday Art Club participants.

The New Art Gallery Walsall

The New Art Gallery Walsall presents, collects and interprets Art in innovative and challenging ways, welcoming visitors from all over the globe as well as our immediate locality. We develop a wide range of activities and events to increase the understanding and enjoyment of arts and culture for a range of audiences including schools, colleges, universities, families and community groups.

Trainee Visitor Experience Assistant - Ref: EE08126

18.5 hours per week - fixed term for 12 months.

Training allowance of approx. £12,206 per annum/£12.65 per hour (based on a full-time allowance of £24,413 per annum)

We are looking for someone to support to our Visitor Experience Team by providing practical and administrative support with day-to-day activities, events, and front of house operations.

This placement is interesting and varied - your duties will include preparing and setting up for events and workshops, welcoming visitors to the Gallery and helping in the Gallery Shop. You will also assist with the ordering of stock and help to produce worksheets and other learning resources, in particular for the Sunday Art Club.

If you have an interest in art, great customer service skills and have an understanding of administration, including using computer packages, we would love to hear from you!
