Job summary

Gregory Group is seeking a Transport Planner apprentice to organise nationwide deliveries and collections, planning loads for a fleet of articulated vehicles. You will coordinate trailer movements, liaise with warehouses and shunters, and monitor performance against KPIs.

You will maintain the Transport Management System, handle data entry, and contribute to continuous improvement while adhering to health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above.
• GCSEs required to support administrative duties and training.

Responsibilities

• Plan loads using a fleet of articulated vehicles to maximise service and efficiency.
• Manage trailer movements to meet customer requirements.
• Liaise with warehouse teams and on-site shunters for vehicle availability.

Maintain and update Transport Management Systems (TMS). Complete general administration duties, including data entry and record keeping. Adhere to company policies, procedures and health and safety standards. Skills & Experience Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively at all levels. Excellent organisational skills and, ability to prioritise workload, Strong attention to detail. Good geographical knowledge of the UK. Ability to work to deadlines and manage changing priorities. Flexible, proactive and solution-focused approach. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Committed to study and pass a Level 2 Traffic Operator Apprenticeship. GCSE's (or Equivalent) in English and Maths at Grade C/ 4 or above.
