Job summary

Gregory Distribution Ltd is recruiting a HGV Driver to join our South West distribution team based in the Plymouth area. You will make multi‑drop palletised deliveries and collections to businesses and private addresses, ensuring loads are secure and delivered on time.

You will hold a UK Class 1 CE or Class 2 C licence with DCPC and Digital Tachograph cards, and show strong customer service, reliability and teamwork. Training and a competitive benefits package are provided.

Qualifications

• Hold a UK Class 1 CE or Class 2 C licence with valid DCPC and tachograph cards.
• Experience delivering loads to client sites is advantageous.
• Commitment to outstanding customer service and professional conduct.
• Ability to work to deadlines with a positive, team‑oriented attitude.

Responsibilities

• Perform multi‑drop palletised deliveries and collections across the South West.
• Load, strap and secure goods to prevent shifting or damage.
• Conduct daily vehicle safety checks and keep records up to date.
• Maintain regular contact with the transport team to update progress.
• Attend training sessions to stay updated with industry standards.

About the Role

As a HGV Driver, you will:

• Use curtain side trailers to make multi-drop palletised deliveries and collections to and from businesses and private addresses around the South West, including tail lift and handball deliveries.
• Ensure goods are loaded and secured correctly to prevent shifting or damage. Use straps, nets, and other securing devices as needed.
• Perform comprehensive daily vehicle safety checks using your company phone to maintain top-notch vehicle safety and reliability.
• Stay in regular communication with the transport team to provide updates on your progress and ensure our customers' expectations are met.
• Participate in regular training sessions to stay ahead with the latest industry standards and best practices.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

• Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence or Class 2 C Licence.
• Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
• Experience of delivering loads directly to client sites is advantageous.
• Passionate about providing excellent customer service.
• Ability to work to deadlines.
• Confident, polite, and a team player.
• Good geographical knowledge.
• Fit, flexible, hardworking, and self-motivated.
