Job summary

Finlay Jude Associates, recruiting on behalf of a leading utilities organisation in Great Yarmouth, seeks a Trainee Smart Meter Technician. No prior experience is required — full training, equipment, and a company vehicle are provided.

The Field Technician will install data logging devices to monitor water networks, supporting leakage reduction, network modelling and pressure management. The role is field-based, requires time management, and adherence to high standards.

Qualifications

• Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Ability to manage time and complete tasks.
• Physically fit for outdoor work in all conditions.
• Full UK Driving Licence required.
• Willingness to undertake training and learn new skills.

Responsibilities

• Install data logging devices on water networks.
• Use specialist equipment for sensors such as acoustics, pressure and flow.
• Complete timesheets, survey forms and leakage reports accurately.
• Maintain Health & Safety compliance at all times.
• Collaborate with Team Leaders and fellow technicians.
