Finlay Jude Recruitment is recruiting Trainee Smart Meter Technicians for a field-based role across the North of Great Yarmouth, Aldeburgh and Bury St Edmunds. No prior experience is required; full training, equipment, and a company vehicle are provided.

As a Field Technician, you will install data logging devices to support water network performance and leakage analysis, working independently to high standards with ongoing training and progression.

Job Title: Trainee Smart Meter Technician

Location: North of Great Yarmouth, Aldeburgh and Bury St Edmonds

Contract – 2 Months, ongoing

The Business

Finlay Jude Recruitment (FJR) is recruiting on behalf of a leading organisation within the utilities sector for Trainee Smart Meter Technicians.

No prior experience is necessary – full training, equipment, and a company vehicle will be provided.

The Role:

As a Field Technician, you will play a key role in supporting the water network operations by installing data logging devices. The devices are used to record water network performance, with the data collected supporting leakage, network modelling, pressure management and water usage.

This field-based position requires working independently, managing your time effectively, and ensuring work is completed to high standards.

Trainee Smart Meter Technician Responsibilities:

• Installation and maintenance of water sensors used to record acoustics, pressure and flow
• Use of specialist equipment
• Accurately complete timesheets, survey forms, and leakage reports
• Take full responsibility for Health & Safety compliance
• Work closely with Team Leaders and fellow technicians
• Report accidents, incidents, and near misses within required timeframes
• Adhere to company vehicle safety processes and complete daily vehicle checks
• Demonstrate company values and professional behaviours at all times
