Job summary

Finlay Jude Recruitment (FJR) is recruiting on behalf of a leading utilities organisation for a Trainee Smart Meter Technician. You will install data logging devices to monitor water network performance, with full training, equipment, and a company vehicle provided.

This field-based role requires independent work, time management, and high standards of safety and professionalism. Excellent long-term career opportunities and a Monday–Friday schedule are offered.

Qualifications

• Positive attitude and strong work ethic are essential.
• Able to manage time effectively and stay reliable on site.
• Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all conditions.
• Full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain water sensors to record acoustics, pressure and flow.
• Use specialist equipment for data collection and device installation.
• Complete timesheets, survey forms, and leakage reports accurately.
• Ensure Health & Safety compliance and report incidents promptly.
• Collaborate with Team Leaders and other technicians.
