Job summary

Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Trainee Maternity Support Worker to join the Women’s Services team. Under supervision of a midwife you will provide woman-centred, family-focused care across hospital and community settings, with progression to a Band 3 role after completing the required Skills Passport.

The post requires commitment to continuous development, accurate record-keeping and maintaining high standards of patient care in line with NHS guidelines.

Qualifications

• Care Certificate or willingness to undertake.
• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care/Childcare/Maternity Care or equivalent.
• Maths and English at Level 2 or higher.
• NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or related Maternity Training completion.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to women and their families under the supervision of a midwife.
• Support mothers and babies and document care given.
• Work across maternity services in hospital and community settings as part of a team.
• Maintain records and ensure safety of equipment and supplies.
• Progress to Band 3 after completing the Skills Passport.
