Somerset NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 6 Midwife to join the Bracken Birth Centre team. You will provide safe, personalised maternity care across antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal pathways, working autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team.

The role emphasises physiological birth, patient safety, audit and evidence-based practice, with supervision of students and newly qualified staff. You will lead care delivery, contribute to service development, and support a compassionate,

Qualifications

• NMC registration and UK registration currently active.
• Diploma or degree-level education or above.
• Completion of preceptorship with at least 1 year post-qualification experience.
• Mentor/assessor training qualification.
• UK driving licence and access to a car.

Responsabilités

• Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care.
• Support physiological birth, waterbirth and personalised birth plans.
• Participate in on-call rota and attend home births.
• Undertake clinical and risk assessments and care planning.
• Respond effectively to complications and emergencies.
• Provide safeguarding support and parent education.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and work with multi-disciplinary teams.
