Job summary

Red Dot Search is hiring a Trainee Claims Handler for our home insurance team in Bolton (BL7). No prior claims experience is required; you’ll receive full training and study for fully funded CII qualifications, with free on-site parking and no evening or weekend shifts.

You’ll handle initial home insurance claims, check policy coverage, coordinate trades and suppliers, and keep customers updated as claims progress.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience in some form: contact centre, complaints, admin, retail, hospitality
• Calm and clear on the phone, even when the customer isn't
• Organised, accurate, and comfortable picking up new systems
• GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C/4 or above in English and Maths
• A full driving licence and your own transport

Responsibilities

• Taking home insurance claims when they first come in: escape of water, storm, accidental damage, theft
• Checking what the policy covers and gathering what's needed to move each claim on
• Booking and managing the trades and suppliers who put things right for the customer
• Keeping customers updated clearly and honestly until the claim is settled
• Spotting anything that doesn't look right and referring it
