Job summary

Red Dot Search UK Limited is seeking a Trainee Claims Handler for the home insurance claims team in Bolton on a full-time basis. The role offers 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm, with full training and funded CII qualifications.

Starting salary is £24,479, with annual pay reviews and a clear route up the claims grades. On-site parking is provided, with weekends and evenings off throughout probation.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience in contact centre, complaints, admin, retail or hospitality.
• Calm and clear on the phone, even when the customer isn't.
• Organised, accurate, and comfortable picking up new systems.
• GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C/4 or above in English and Maths.
• A full driving licence and your own transport.

Responsibilities

• Taking home insurance claims when they first come in: escape of water, storm, accidental damage, theft
• Checking what the policy covers and gathering what's needed to move each claim on
• Booking and managing the trades and suppliers who put things right for the customer
• Keeping customers updated clearly and honestly until the claim is settled
• Spotting anything that doesn't look right and referring it
