ScottishPower is recruiting a Trainee Field Technician to develop through a structured three-year programme across sites in Southern and Central Scotland. You will learn through hands-on work, college study for a Diploma in Electrical Power Engineering, and mentorship from experienced staff.

You will progressively take on responsibilities in installation, commissioning, maintenance, and fault-finding on network equipment, with emphasis on safety and hands-on learning on real projects.

Qualifications

• Interest in engineering and electricity network concepts.
• Willingness to travel to operational sites and training locations.
• Full UK driving licence by December 2026.

Responsabilités

• Install, commission and maintain network equipment under supervision.
• Learn SCADA, telecontrol and telecoms apparatus operations.
• Work safely following safety management systems and records.
• Progress through the programme toward technical authorisations.
