Job summary

Euro Projects Recruitment is seeking a Trainee Engineer for a precision engineering environment in Leicester. The role focuses on maintaining and updating CAD files, supporting senior engineers, and ensuring drawings are accurate and up to date.

You will develop skills in CAD (SolidEdge, Creo), GD&T and BOM management, with a clear path to progression. Monday-Thursday 08:00-16:30, Friday early finish, onsite role with good internal progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• HNC / Level 4 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience using CAD software (e.g. SolidEdge, Creo or similar).
• Exposure to engineering drawings, GD&T and Bills of Materials.
• Some experience within precision manufacturing or similar environments.
• Strong attention to detail with a structured and organised approach.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining and updating existing CAD files and drawings rather than purely new design work.
• Supporting senior engineers by refining models, reapplying dimensions, and ensuring drawings are accurate and up to date
• Carrying out detailed checks and "sanity checking" of designs, cross-referencing information to ensure consistency and accuracy
• Developing iterative updates and revisions, where attention to detail is key
• Taking initiative to spot errors, inconsistencies, or improvements within existing designs and documentation

Trainee Engineer – Precision Engineering, £26,000 - £30,000, Leicester

• £26,000 - £30,000 salary guide (depending on experience) + company benefits + good progression opportunities.




• Leicester-based role, working onsite within a precision engineering environment.




• Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 16:30 with an early finish Friday! Some flexibility with working hours.

Your background as a Trainee Engineer:

• Ideally HNC / Level 4 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or similar

This Trainee Engineer role is commutable from Leicester, Loughborough, Anstey, Birstall, Syston, Melton Mowbray, Thurmaston, Leicestershire and surrounding areas.
